Why Can't I Be There Always...

Today was a stressful, anxious day for me. I received a text quite early in the morning from my daughter.  It was during my most restful sleep so I did not see it until a couple hours later.  It was a text that every mother hates, but her husband held down the anxiety of my daughter. To say that my daughter has been on my mind is an understatement.

To keep the stress and anxiety at bay, I head into the craft room and start sewing. This year I found Laundry Basket Quilts and decided to hop on the wagon for the Summer Mystery Sew-a-long. I know, I do so many, but they are so very fun! I found Edyta a little too late after the AH-MAZ-ING quilt-a-long she did before this one and I HAD to do this one. I knew it would turn out gorgeous.

Edyta delivered! I have been a little behind (as always, I am lagging behind) and this gave me the boost to get the quilt all caught up. I still have 2 of the largest amount of blocks to do, but oh my goodness! I laid it out on the living room floor this afternoon and got a very good idea of how beautiful this quilt is. It doesn't hurt that it is being sewn with my absolute favorite fabric line, Tulip Tango by Robin Pickens.

I hate that I can't show the laid-out version, it's a gift for my daughter and her husband for Christmas. I can give you a little peek at the fabric and colors...

Are they not just amazing? These are 2 blocks I had to make for the pattern. Sorry for the yellowish-ting photo, craft room lighting isn't made for picture taking. I CAN NOT wait to see this quilt sewn together!
